A magnificent Shrine dedicated to Mary, Mother of the Church features an awe inspiring fourteen foot stainless steel sculpture of Mary, which stands in a natural amphitheatre surrounded by beautiful fountains.
The Mothers’ Wall of Life has become a great attraction of the Shrine, with the names of mothers from around the world engraved in the polished black granite. The Mothers’ Wall of Life continues to grow daily and is an everlasting tribute to all mothers.
The first engraving on the Mothers’ Wall of Life was April 1, 1999. It is a tribute to motherhood and family life, for all mother’s living or deceased, regardless of race, color or creed. There are now 37 states and 13 countries represented on the Wall, making this one of the most meaningful shrines in the country. Go into the web site and search for a loved ones name on the Wall.
In 2003, the Shrine became a National Shrine, making this the sixteenth Nation Shrine in the United States, and the only recognized National Shrine in Missouri.
All “Request for Prayers” are placed in the Chapel where they receive the prayers at Mass, and in a basket for people to pray for that specific request.

This long awaited kiosk now looks like a reality as an outdoor stand alone kiosk has come down greatly in cost. They are now approximately $3,000 each and we would like to put several on the grounds to make them handicapped accessible. This will eliminate the book (that is always missing pages). You will go to the kiosk, type in the mother’s name and it will appear, listing the location on the Wall.
Hopefully, we will be able to expand the information to include a small biography on each person.
This is so exciting, so get ready to send information about your loved ones. I would love to include a photograph, I will let you know if and when this is possible.

New Name on the Mother's Wall
How would you like to help us put the name of our beautiful shrine on the front of the fountains? Sponsor an 8” - 10 ” letter on standout brackets with LED lighting behind to look like it is floating off the wall for only $200 per letter.
Simply contact the office and let us know how many letters you would like to sponsor.
Hopefully we will get all the letters sponsored and have the letters mounted on the Wall by the time you come back next spring. |
